Stand Still, Your Salvation Is in Sight
Exodus 14:13 (KJV) “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”
We all face moments when fear whispers, “Run.” Run from the diagnosis. Run from the confrontation. Run from the responsibility. Run from the calling.
But the Word of God commands something radically different: “Stand still.” Not in defeat, but in faith. Not in confusion, but in expectation. When Moses spoke these words, the Israelites were trapped, Pharaoh behind them, the Red Sea before them. Every natural instinct said “flee.” But God said “watch.”
Here’s the difference:
When You Keep Running:
You prolong the battle.
You carry fear into every new season.
You never see the full power of God at work.
You exhaust yourself trying to outrun what only God can conquer.
When You Stand Still:
You give God room to move.
You witness miracles that only faith can unlock.
You silence the voice of fear with the authority of trust.
You watch your enemies fall, not by your hand, but by His.
Standing still is not passive, it’s prophetic. It declares, “I trust God more than I trust my fear.” It says, “I will not be moved by what I see, I will be anchored by what He said.”
So today, whatever your “Egyptians” may be, whether it’s anxiety, betrayal, financial pressure, or spiritual warfare, stand still. Don’t run. Don’t retreat. Don’t rehearse the worst-case scenario. Stand still and see. God is not only with you, He is fighting for you.
