WHAT'S MY OPINION ON THE MATTER?

Things happen in our lives that stir up a whirlwind of emotions, joy, sorrow, confusion, and sometimes even numbness. We may not all agree on the issues unfolding in our homes, our government, or even within the church, but I want to offer you my personal opinion, shaped by seventy-five years of walking with the Lord through valleys and mountaintops alike. When life uproots your comfort, devastates your functioning, and leaves you broken, my answer is simple: stop moving and pray. Yes, pray, so that you will not become the prey of the enemy.

Prayer is not a last resort; it is our first line of defense. It is the divine strategy that turns panic into peace and confusion into clarity. Scripture is filled with examples of people who found themselves backed into corners, overwhelmed by circumstances, and yet, they prayed, and God answered.
Here are seven brief but powerful reminders:
Hannah prayed in her barrenness, and God gave her a son (1 Samuel 1:27).
Daniel prayed in the lion’s den, and God shut the mouths of the beasts (Daniel 6:22).
Hezekiah prayed when death was near, and God added fifteen years to his life (Isaiah 38:5).
Jonah prayed from the belly of the fish, and God delivered him (Jonah 2:2).
The thief on the cross prayed in his final moments, and Jesus promised him paradise (Luke 23:43).
The early church prayed for Peter in prison, and the angel of the Lord set him free (Acts 12:5).
Jesus Himself prayed in Gethsemane, and angels came to strengthen Him (Luke 22:43).
Each of these moments reminds us that prayer is not passive, it is powerful. It is the divine lifeline that connects our brokenness to God’s wholeness.
And now, I want to encourage you: when life gets hard and we feel pressed to the wall to respond, let the Lawyer of our soul speak for us. Because He can move mountains while we’re still trying to push a rock. He can still do the impossible when we think all hope is lost. He can clear a path through the mess and have you walk through it, then turn around and call you blessed. And if you need a reminder of His power, remember this: My God answers by fire. Just as He did for Elijah on Mount Carmel, when the prophets of Baal cried in vain, and Elijah prayed a simple prayer, and fire fell from Heaven (1 Kings 18:36–38). That same God still responds with power, still reveals His glory, and still turns hearts back to Him.
So what’s my opinion on every situation we face? PRAY! And when you’re tired of praying, PRAY AGAIN. And keep doing it until the GREAT I AM shows us just how much power He still has.
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3.
Be confident. Be still. Be prayerful. The same God who brought the children of Israel through the Red Sea is still delivering today. He is still mighty to save, still faithful to answer, and still near to those who call upon Him.
