DOMESTIC VIOLENCE MONTH
- NORTH CAROLINA DIOCESE

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time when we pause to confront a painful reality that affects millions, often in silence. Behind closed doors, in homes that should be safe havens, many endure emotional, physical, and psychological abuse. This campaign is not just symbolic, it is a lifeline. It exists to keep the conversation alive, to break the silence, and to remind survivors that they are seen, heard, and deeply valued.
We recognize that domestic violence does not discriminate. It touches every race, gender, age, and socioeconomic background. And while the scars may be hidden, the pain is real. This month, we commit to being voices of compassion, advocates for justice, and vessels of healing.
Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
God does not turn away from the wounded. He draws near. He binds up the broken. He restores what was stolen. And through His love, and our collective action, healing is possible.
My prayers are with you who endure this and I along with the members of the North Carolina Diocese, stand with those who are dealing with this issue. Connect with us and let us help you with resources for your recovery.
No longer suffer in silence.
