“I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.” Jeremiah 23:21
Today is Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, and I am sitting in my office, watching the calamities on the news unfolding around us, locally, nationally, and internationally, I was moved to immediate intercession. As the news cycled from one issue or crisis to the next, I am reminded of a message from my 2020 archives titled, “WHOSE VOICE ARE YOU LISTENING TO?”
BELOW YOU WILL FIND MY MINISTRY NOTES FOR THE MESSAGE. I PRAY THEY WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING THAT IT IS IMPERATIVE TO LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD:
We are surrounded by voices, voices telling us how to dress, what to eat, where to go, and how to think. These voices come from government, church, family, friends, and social media, each pushing us toward their version of truth. But in the midst of this overwhelming noise, we must ask: Is God the deciding voice in your life? Because some of the voices we’re following, God never approved them.
You jumped. You danced. You felt good at church. But was it truly God, or just a performance? They said they loved you. They bought you gifts. But is that relationship ordained by God, or driven by your flesh? In this hour, discernment is not optional, it is essential. Let us silence the noise and tune our ears to Heaven, for only the voice of God can lead us in truth, peace, and divine purpose.
Let me share a few key points from that message, then and now, they still speak truth:
1. Every voice has a source. Not every voice is divine. Some are demonic. Some are driven by ego. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits…” (1 John 4:1)
2. Movement does not equal mandate. Just because someone is running doesn’t mean they were sent. “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran…” (Jeremiah 23:21)
3. Emotion is not confirmation. You can feel good and still be out of alignment. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man…” (Proverbs 14:12)
4. God’s voice brings peace, not pressure. His voice doesn’t manipulate, it ministers. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)
5. Discernment is not optional, it’s survival. In this hour, discernment is not a luxury. It’s a lifeline. “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith…” (Revelation 2:7)
Part II:
Jeremiah reminds us that, “They Ran Without Being Sent.” This means people are stepping into roles, making declarations, or taking action, without God’s approval, instruction, or authority. They are doing what is best for them and not best for the Kingdom of God or the intrest of the people. This message is not just for the church, but for any listener who has an ear for the truth.
My mother told me, "If it is of God, there will be a connection with the people of God." Just like when a person at the altar recieved the Spirit of God, called the Holy Ghost, the person who has the same spirit will feel that same spirit and it will overtake the entire church that even the unbeliever will feel and know that God is in the midst. Remember this: one hand clap, turns into 2, then 3, then 4, until the entire room is overrun with one sound of applause. Keyword: ONE.
Here’s how it plays out in everyday life:
In ministry: Someone starts preaching, prophesying, or leading without being called or prepared by God. They may sound convincing, but their words lack divine backing and spiritual fruit.
In relationships: A person enters a relationship, marriage, or partnership based on emotions, pressure, or appearances, not because God confirmed it. It may look good, but it’s not God-ordained.
In decision-making: People make major life moves, changing careers, relocating, launching businesses, because it feels right or others said so, but they never sought God’s voice. They ran, but they weren’t sent.
In influence: Social media influencers, public figures, or even church leaders may speak boldly, but their message doesn’t align with scripture. They prophesy, but God hasn’t spoken through them.
The warning from Jeremiah 23:21 is clear: don’t follow movement, follow the mandate given through the Word of God. Just because someone is active, loud, or popular doesn’t mean they’re operating under God’s authority.
In this hour, we must ask: Did God send them? Did God speak to them? If not, we must be careful not to follow them. It is written, "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (18) For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." (Romans 16:17-18)

“I have not sent these prophets… yet they ran. I have not spoken to them… yet they prophesied.” But who gave them the micophone? Who elected them to office? Who Who paid there way? Who gave them the mantle? Who gave them the message? If God didn’t send them, if God didn’t speak to them, then what spirit are they operating in? I answer that in this manner: John 8:44-45, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (45) And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not."
This is not the hour to be impressed by charisma or captivated by performance. It is the hour to discern and do as Revelation 3:22 says, "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
How do you test the spirits to see if they are from God, you can follow these guidelines:
Biblical Instruction: As stated in 1 John 4:1, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God".
Examine Teachings: Ensure that what is being taught aligns with the clear teachings of Scripture or the Constitution of your fundamentals. The Bereans in Acts 17:10-11 were commended for examining the Scriptures daily to verify teachings.
Discernment: Look for the fruits of the spirit in the teachings or messages. Genuine messages from God will reflect His character and truth.
These steps can help you discern whether spiritual influences are genuinely from God or not. These are my opinion, as shared by the Spirit of God, through study.
Listen to this voice, test the spirits. Measure every voice against the Word of God. Follow only the voice that bears the mark of Heaven, the voice that convicts, confirms, and aligns with divine truth.
Part III:
Here are 5 signs to know if the spiritual or political leader is sent by God:
1. Sent by God, not self. True prophets wait for divine instruction before they move.
2. Speak only what God says. Prophetic authority flows from intimacy, not ambition. Even political entities can carry the mantle of God, to carry out His message to the people.
a. Romans 13:1: "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established."
b. 1 Peter 2:13-14: "Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human
authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who
are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do
right."
c. Jeremiah 29:7: "Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have
carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will
prosper."
d. Psalm 72:1-2: "Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness. May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones
with justice."
These leaders remind us that God can use kings, emperors, and governors, whether righteous or unrighteous, for His divine purposes. Authority may rest in human hands,
but sovereignty belongs to God.
i. Pharaoh (Genesis 41) Though many Pharaohs opposed God, one elevated
Joseph to power during a famine. God used Joseph’s political position to save
Egypt and Israel from starvation.
ii. Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2–4) King of Babylon who conquered Judah and
exiled its people. Despite his pride, God used him to fulfill prophecy and later
humbled him, leading to a declaration of God’s sovereignty.
iii. Cyrus the Great (Ezra 1:1–4) King of Persia who issued a decree allowing the
Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. Isaiah prophesied his role 150
years before he was born (Isaiah 45:1).
iv. Darius I (Daniel 6) Persian king who supported Daniel and later honored the
God of Israel after Daniel survived the lions’ den. He protected God's servant and
promoted reverence for the Lord.
v. Artaxerxes (Nehemiah 2) Persian king who granted Nehemiah permission and
resources to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls. His favor helped restore the city’s strength
and dignity.
vi. Herod Agrippa I (Acts 12) Though he persecuted the church, his death was a
divine judgment that affirmed God’s authority. His reign indirectly highlighted the
unstoppable growth of the early church.
vii. Pontius Pilate (John 19) Roman governor who authorized Jesus’ crucifixion.
Though his role was tragic, it fulfilled God’s redemptive plan for salvation.
viii. Caesar Augustus (Luke 2:1) Roman emperor whose census decree led Mary
and Joseph to Bethlehem, fulfilling the prophecy of the Messiah’s birthplace
3. Discern the difference. Not every voice is Heaven-sent. Test the spirit.
4. Beware of spiritual performance. Running without being sent leads to deception.
5. Stay anchored in truth. God’s Word is the standard. His voice is the compass.
Part IV: Conclusion
In a world overflowing with opinions, trends, and persuasive voices, the greatest act of wisdom is to listen to the voice of God, without compromise, without delay, and without dilution. His voice is not one among many; it is the voice that created the heavens, calms the storms, and calls us into purpose. When God speaks, He does not compete, He commands. To follow Him is to walk in truth, even when it’s unpopular. To obey Him is to stand in righteousness, even when it costs you comfort. The voice of God will never lead you astray, never flatter your flesh, and never contradict His Word. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). That is the standard. That is the call. So silence the noise. Reject the counterfeit. And lean in to the One who speaks life, direction, and destiny. For in His voice is safety, clarity, and eternal reward. Listen, and follow, without compromise.
Who is talking, now? God is speaking - Matthew 11:28, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
