Greetings Saints and Friends,
Grace, peace, and the power of the Almighty God be multiplied unto each of you. It is with great joy and heartfelt expectation that I welcome you to this sacred moment in the life of our diocese, the 86th Holy Gathering, our 2026 State Assembly. What a blessing it is to see God’s people coming together from near and far, united in purpose, united in faith, and united in the pursuit of His presence.
We gather at a time when the world around us is growing colder. Governmental unrest, spiritual warfare within the church, and division in our homes have shaken many. Yet you have chosen to come into this holy space, to lift your eyes above the noise, and to position your heart to hear from the Lord. That decision alone is a testimony of your faith, your hunger, and your readiness for what God is about to do.
This year’s theme speaks directly to the urgency of the hour: “Rise and Go Forth, For the Coming of the Lord Is, NOW!” This is not merely a slogan, it is a summons. A call to awaken. A call to shake off spiritual slumber. A call to walk boldly in the authority Christ has given us. A call to prepare ourselves, our families, and our churches for the soon‑coming King.
Our AIM for this Gathering is clear: To stir the hearts of God’s people to rise from discouragement, to stand in renewed strength, and to move forward in faith with joy, power, and holy expectation.
Our Scriptural Foundation anchors us in truth: “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” Romans 13:11. Supporting Scriptures remind us of our assignment and our promise:
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come…” Isaiah 60:1
“But ye shall receive power…” Acts 1:8
“Behold, I come quickly…” Revelation 22:12
My brothers and sisters, we must be ready to meet Jesus. And this Holy Gathering is God’s appointed time to strengthen us, revive us, and prepare us.
Throughout this Holy Gathering, I, along with countless others welcome you with open arms and an open heart. May you feel the warmth of fellowship, the strength of unity, and the undeniable presence of the Holy Ghost. May every service lift you. May every message challenge you. May every moment draw you closer to the Lord.
Welcome to the 86th Holy Gathering. Welcome to renewal. Welcome to revival. Welcome to the place where we Rise and Go Forth.
My continued prayers are with each of you, and I pray blessings be upon you and your families. Lord, make us one, in such a time as this.
On behalf of all of us within the Diocese of North Carolina, WELCOME!!!
Your humble servant,
Bishop Charlene M. Jamison
Jurisdictional Prelate
