THIS IS THE SEASON FOR GROWTH

Growth is not optional in the Kingdom of God, it is essential. Everything God births is designed to mature, strengthen, and expand for His glory. Scripture reminds us, “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” 2 Peter 3:18. Growth is the evidence that we are alive in Him, responsive to His Spirit, and committed to His work.

This resurgence within the Ministers’ Council of the North Carolina Diocese is a call to rise, stretch, and step boldly into greater effectiveness. It is not merely a program, it is an equipping. Leaders are being sharpened, strengthened, and supplied with the tools needed to grow as you go into all the world, carrying the life‑changing message of Jesus Christ.

The late Bishop Rebecca W. Fletcher, our beloved 5th Chief Overseer, declared with prophetic clarity, “No more business as usual.” Those words still echo with urgency. They remind us that the hour is too critical, the assignment too important, and the harvest too ripe for complacency. We must develop an urgency to do more, reach more, love more, and serve more, because the Kingdom demands our best.

As we move forward, let us stay connected, prayerful, and committed. Growth happens when we walk together, learn together, and labor together. The Ministers’ Council stands ready to support every pastor, minister, and emerging leader in this journey of development and transformation.

Let’s grow, together, for the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom.

Here are 5 scriptures with the Spiritual Nuggets that were given during the 85th Holy Gathering in Raleigh, NC, by our Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Charlene M. Jamison, from the teaching, "The Signs of A Kingdom Believer." share with you that growth is important:

1. 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” Spiritual Nugget: A direct command to keep developing spiritually, never becoming stagnant.

2. Ephesians 4:15, “But speaking the truth in love, [we] may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.” Spiritual Nugget: Growth means becoming more like Christ in character, conduct, and calling.

3. Colossians 1:10, “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord… increasing in the knowledge of God.” Spiritual Nugget: Kingdom growth is tied to walking worthy and continually increasing in spiritual understanding.

4. Psalm 92:12–13, “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree… Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.” Spiritual Nugget: Growth is the natural result of being rooted in God’s presence.

5. John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches… he that abideth in me… bringeth forth much fruit.” Spiritual Nugget: Fruitfulness, visible, measurable growth, is the evidence of abiding in Christ.

These scriptures remind us that growth is a core expectation in the Kingdom of God. We are called to mature, increase in knowledge, bear fruit, and strengthen our walk with Christ. As we commit to growing in every area of ministry, we honor God and become more effective in the work He has assigned to our hands.

The North Carolina Ministers' Council stands ready to support this journey, encouraging leaders to keep developing and moving forward with purpose.
