THE SMOOTHIE OF GOD’S GOODNESS

Galatians 5:22–23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance…”

There is something beautiful about a smoothie. You take different fruits, each with its own flavor, texture, and purpose, and when blended together, they create something refreshing, nourishing, and satisfying. No single ingredient carries the whole drink; it is the combination that brings the richness. In the same way, the goodness of God works like a divine smoothie in our lives. He blends His love, His mercy, His peace, His patience, and His joy into our hearts until we become a living testimony of His grace. What we could never produce on our own, the Holy Spirit produces in us as the fruit of the Spirit.

I am an avid customer of a company called Smoothie King, and their drinks are good for me physically, they energize me, strengthen me, and empower me to go forth. In the same way, when God blends His spiritual fruit into our lives, it nourishes us from the inside out. Just as fruit must be gathered, washed, and prepared before it becomes a smoothie, God takes the different parts of our lives, the sweet moments, the bitter experiences, the seasons of growth, and even the times of pruning, and He works them together for our good. Nothing is wasted in His hands. When the Holy Spirit blends His character into us, we begin to taste and see the goodness of the Lord in ways we never imagined.

And just as a smoothie refreshes the body, the fruit of the Spirit refreshes the soul. When others “taste” your life, your kindness, your gentleness, your patience, your joy, they encounter the goodness of God flowing through you. You become a living invitation for others to “taste and see that the Lord is good.” God’s goodness is not just something we receive; it is something we carry, something we share, and something that nourishes everyone around us. May your life today be a spiritual smoothie, blended by God, filled with His fruit, and refreshing to all who encounter you.
