Prayer shall be our 1st response. #PowerOfPrayer #TexasStrong #NorthCarolinaHOGC
All wise and Almighty God,
We lift up Texas to You in the midst of profound loss and sorrow caused by these catastrophic floods. With heavy hearts, we remember the more than 120 lives claimed and the hundreds still missing, families shattered, communities immersed in grief .
Scripture – Psalm 46:1–2 (NIV):
“God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear…”
Lord, You are our shelter when the waters rise and the ground beneath us trembles. Be a refuge for the brokenhearted, a source of strength for the exhausted, and a beacon of hope for every grieving soul. Reach into the hearts of those at Camp Mystic, Kerrville, Center Point, and across the Hill Country where tragedy struck so swiftly and the surrounding areas.
Bring swift healing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, to the injured and traumatized. Fill each missing family’s hearts with Your peace that transcends understanding, and wrap them in the assurance that they are not alone.
Empower rescuers and volunteers with wisdom, courage, and compassion in their tireless efforts. May their hands be Your hands of rescue, and their actions testify to Your love.
We ask, Lord, that You would rebuild what has been lost, homes, livelihoods, trust, and unity. Stir the hearts of communities and neighbors to stand together in compassion, seeing Your face in one another.
As Psalm 46 reminds us, You are our help “in trouble.” May we walk forward in faith, believing that out of this darkness, You will bring restoration and renewed hope. Let Texas feel Your protective, healing presence now.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
