“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV).
Take a deep breath. Whatever you're facing today, whatever storm is swirling, whatever mountain stands in your way, know this: You are not alone. (Hebrews 13:5b). The God of heaven and earth is not only with you, He’s going before you. He’s already in your tomorrow, preparing the way, fighting battles you can’t even see.
Deuteronomy 31:6 isn’t just a verse to memorize; it’s a promise to live by. God is not asking you to be fearless in your own strength. He’s inviting you to lean into His. He’s saying, “I’ve got this. I’ve got you.”
During my 14-year tenure as Senior Pastor of The House of God Church – West Hollywood, the congregation and I labored together to remodel the church into the standard it represents today. Along the way, we encountered repeated setbacks, particularly with city-related issues that delayed our progress. Frustration mounted, and it seemed as though every step forward was met with resistance.
Then one Sunday morning, during Devotional Service, Deacon Jerry Hicks stood boldly before the church and declared in the face of opposition: “GOD WILL FIGHT FOR US!” In that moment, the power of God swept through the sanctuary. Faith was ignited. We didn’t just hear the word, we believed it, and we acted on it.
We still felt the heat of setbacks, but we did not forget what the Lord said. Within 6 weeks, every obstacle that had hindered us suddenly dissolved. Permits were approved. Delays were lifted. What once felt impossible became a testimony of God’s faithfulness. Why? Because we stood on His word, trusted His timing, and moved forward in faith, coupled with constant prayer and praise.
Let this be a reminder: when God is for you, no opposition can stand. Believe Him. Declare His promises. And watch Him move.
When fear whispers that you’re not enough, God thunders back, “I am more than enough.” Read Romans 8:37.
You may feel tired. You may feel like the odds are stacked against you. But take heart, your victory doesn’t depend on your strength. It rests in the hands of the One who has never lost a battle. He is your defender, your refuge, your ever-present help.
So rise today with courage. Walk forward with boldness. You will overcome, not because the path is easy, but because your God is faithful. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. And He will never fail you. Keep going, your breakthrough is closer than you think.
