FULL FLOW OR HALF FLOW, YOU DECIDE.

Updated: Apr 2

In life, we often seek the blessings that God has destined for us. However, our actions and attitudes can sometimes interrupt these blessings. Scriptures provide profound insights into how hatred, unforgiveness, sins of the heart, evil thoughts, and sinful actions can hinder our divine favor.

Hatred is a powerful emotion that can block God's blessings. 1 John 4:20 states, "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen." Hatred creates a barrier between us and God's love, preventing us from receiving His blessings.

Unforgiveness is another significant hindrance. In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus teaches, "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Holding onto grudges and refusing to forgive others keeps us from experiencing God's forgiveness and blessings.

Sins of the heart, such as envy and pride, also obstruct our path to God's favor. Proverbs 4:23 advises, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." When our hearts are filled with sin, it affects our actions and thoughts, distancing us from God's blessings. You can not say that you love God and you are a Christian (which means to be Christ-like) and stir up mischief, herald accusations (speak your version of truth without evidence), and even act do as you want and say, “God knows where I am coming from, He knows my heart.” It is written, Leviticus 10:10, “And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;” These things and more can hinder the flow of the longevity of the fulfillment of the promises of God in our life.

Evil thoughts and sinful actions further separate us from God's grace. James 1:14-15 explains, "But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death." Our thoughts and actions must align with God's will to receive His blessings. We do not want to become our own worst enemy by holding in sin.

Repentance is the key to restoring our relationship with God. 1 John 1:9 promises, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." By repenting and changing our ways, we open the door for God to restore what He has destined for our lives. A key verse in Matthew 18:15 says, “Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.” Sometimes, we have misunderstandings, and we operate off of what someone told us, and the truth is that it is not the complete picture of the truth. It is written, Isaiah 1:18a, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord:…”

Keep this in mind, by letting go of hatred, embracing forgiveness, purifying our hearts, and aligning our thoughts and actions with God's will, we can remove the barriers that hinder His blessings. Repent, change your ways, and watch God restore unto you the blessings He has destined for your life.
