FAITH THAT STANDS WHEN TIMES GET TOUGH
2 TIMOTHY 1:7, “FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND.”
Tough times have a way of speaking loudly. Problems rise up, uncertainties crowd our thoughts, and fear tries to take the driver’s seat. Yet the Word of God cuts through every anxious whisper with a bold reminder: fear is not your portion. God did not give you fear, panic, or defeat, so you do not have to accept them. Instead, He has equipped you with power, love, and a sound mind, even when life feels overwhelming. “FEAR THOU NOT; FOR I AM WITH THEE” (ISAIAH 41:10) anchors us when emotions try to run wild.
Faith does not deny the reality of your situation; faith declares that God is greater than the situation. Faith says, “I may be in a storm, but the storm is not in me.” When issues rise up, when pressure mounts, and when the unknown tries to intimidate you, remember that you are not abandoned or powerless. “WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT” (2 CORINTHIANS 5:7) reminds us that our confidence is rooted in God’s truth, not our circumstances. And “CASTING ALL YOUR CARE UPON HIM; FOR HE CARETH FOR YOU” (1 PETER 5:7) assures us that we never carry our burdens alone.
The same God who strengthened Timothy strengthens you today. The same Spirit that empowered the early church empowers you now. The same Word that sustained generations will sustain you through every trial. “THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION; WHOM SHALL I FEAR?” (PSALM 27:1) declares your victory over fear. Stand firm, lift your head, and let faith rise while fear falls. You are equipped, empowered, and upheld by a God who never fails.
