To our beloved North Carolina Diocese family and friends,
We come to you with heavy hearts and fervent prayers following the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Melissa, which made landfall in Jamaica on October 28th as a Category 5 storm with winds reaching 185 miles per hour. The devastation has been widespread, with total destruction reported in the western regions of the island. Communication has been severed, and lives have been lost, particularly in Haiti, where flooding has claimed many.
We extend our deepest prayers and heartfelt concern to all those affected. In the spirit of compassion and unity, my office has reached out to connect with the American Red Cross and Hands of Compassion, along with 2 other First Aid organizations to render support where it is most needed.
In the name of The House of God Church, Inc. - North Carolina Diocese, connected sponsors on Friday, October 31, 2025, contributed 120 boxes of hygeine items, each box contained 48 pre-packed individual units. This means 5,760 people on the Island of Jamacia will be served because of the genorosity of others. Also, 80 nonparishable food boxes were dispatched, along with contributions. We are blessed to be a blessing.
If you feel led to offer aid, please do so. However, we strongly urge you to research and verify any organization before giving funds. Let us be wise stewards, ensuring that our generosity reaches those truly in need.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1.
May the Lord guide our hands, soften our hearts, and strengthen our resolve as we stand together in love and service.
In His service,
Bishop Charlene M. Jamison
Jurisdictional Prelate
