YOUNG ADULT
AUXILIARY - NORTH CAROLINA
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
OUR STORY
Young Adults are emerging leaders and protagonists in the Church and within their communities, schools, and society at large. Our Young Adults Auxiliary (commonly known as, "YAA") are those young people from all cultural communities and abilities between ages 18 and 40 who are single or married, with or without children, divorced or widowed, and in college, working, unemployed, incarcerated, or in the military. These young adults are indeed adults and are impacting the Church and society today.
Young people have a unique zeal for justice, faith, and the love of the Gospel, longing for truth and purpose, challenging convention and the status quo, also inspiring innovation and action. They inject a contagious energy into their societal and ecclesial communities and set hearts on fire with every move made. We do not ignore our youth and young adults for they are active witnesses to the love of Jesus Christ in the world today. As our Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Charlene M. Jamison tells us, "The hearts of our Youth and Young Adults are the life-source of the today's church, community movement and change for the betterment of tomorrow. We must stand with them and offer our hands to push them into the place of greatness, through Christ."
